Real or imagined, this modern library set in a voluminous classical space with deeply carved ornate architectural details is a dream space. A grand glass chandelier can be seen in the center of the room while a black metal torchiere lamp is visible in the hallway beyond.
An amazing eclectic apartment living room turned library with floor to ceiling teal book shelves is perfect for quiet evenings at home or entertaining guests for coffee and dessert.
Many traditional dining rooms are long and narrow making one long wall a wonderful place for a home library. Having the lovely tomes nearby just might spark lots of lively conversation over dinner.
This long light-filled hallway has been turned into a home library and art gallery by interior designer Steven Gambriel. Built-in window seats beckon one to stop for a moment and through one of the many books in this collection.

Diane Keaton's home library is her pride and joy as it takes the place of honor in the entry hall of her Beverly Hills home. A masterful hanging light gives new meaning pendant lighting as we know it. "The eye sees what the mind knows" indeed.
Who says a home library must contain hundreds of volumes? A bedside table with books on top, on its lower shelf and on the floor underneath creates the ultimate compact little library.
