Where are you from?

Hong Kong but to English Parents

Tell us your latest news?

I just got back from Thailand and miss the heat already. It’s winter at home and man it’s freezing ðŸ˜Š

When and why did you begin writing?

I’ve been writing all my life. Always making up stories. 😊 Couldn’t help it. Lol

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I still to this day have trouble telling people I’m an author. It still doesn’t feel real. But I guess in the last year I’ve finally come to terms that this is a career and has been for the past four years and I’m unbelievably lucky.

What inspired you to write your first book?

Q popped into my head with his twisted story and I had to write it.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I would say descriptive but fast paced. I aim to deliver EMOTION along with plot. I do my best to make the reader feel butterflies and fall in love with the characters.

How did you come up with the title?

Normally, the book names itself but sometimes I’ll have to ponder on it for a while. I like to have the title before I write the story though.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Not really. As long as they escape into a different reality and enjoy my words that’s all I’m trying to do.

How much of the book is realistic?

For the sake of fiction some things are dramatized more than real life but most of it is based on fact.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Some, not all. There is a bit of me and my moods, flaws, strengths in each of my characters.

What books have most influenced your life most?

I really like Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M Auel, Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor and Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Oh, there are far too many to choose. ðŸ˜Š

What book are you reading now?

I’m reading a non-fiction book on buying property in Thailand right now. lol

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to read much lately with my own deadlines but I’m dying to see what’s out there soon!

What are your current projects?

Thousands (Dollar Series #4) Millions (Dollar Series #5) and another book—a standalone—that I’m DYING to write and can’t wait to talk about.

Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members. Entity?

I guess my horse supports my mental state by taking me on gallops on the beach to clear the writer cobwebs. Does that count?

Fifi: Your horse definitely counts and galloping on the beach sounds great!

Do you see writing as a career?

Yes, for sure

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Nope. I really like Hundreds. One of my favourite actually ðŸ˜Š

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

No, it’s always been there. Right from the first memory of devouring stories as a kid

Can you share a little of your current work with us?

His pain became a visible thing—a  heavy scarlet wave seeping from his chest into mine. I knew what he felt because I felt it, too. I knew the emptiness he feared because the same emptiness resided in me at the very thought of being apart again.
Words danced on my tongue.
Promises I could never keep.
Oaths that begged to be spoken to ease his pain.
But I stayed silent because no matter what I vowed, I would break them.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Everything can be an issue at some time or other. Some days it’s plot, others it’s spelling. Most of the time I’m lucky that it flows and if it doesn’t, I go see my horse and write in the paddock.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Again, I have far too many to list. I wouldn’t want to pick favourites 😊 they’re all amazing in their own right.

Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?

Yes, I love to travel for research so use it as an opportunity.

Who designed the covers?

I have two artists: Ari from Cover it Designs and Kellie from Book Cover by Designs.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Sitting down and making it happen in the allotted time frame.

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

Yes, each book I learn something new. I love it!

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Keep writing, no matter how hard it is. If you TRULY want this career, then you’ll make it without a doubt—it just takes perseverance and learning what the market wants while staying true to what you want to write.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Thanks SO much for all your amazing support and kindness. I wouldn’t be where I am today and I owe it all to you! I hope all your dreams come true. Xx

Thanks for interviewing me! ❤ xxx
